Latest York County automotive and bike events for September ...

To publish information about events related to cars, trucks or motorcycles, email Cathy Hirko at chirko@ydr.com or send information to Automotive Events, Cathy Hirko, York Sunday News, 1891 Loucks Road, York 17408. Include dates and times, website if applicable, and a contact name and phone number. You may also send photos related to your event. Photos sent by email should be in jpeg format, at least 200 dpi. Include the date and place the photo was taken as well as the names of any people featured prominently in the picture. Identifying the makes and models of vehicles in the photo, along with the names of their owners, can also be helpful. Automotive events run on Sunday and are compiled one week before publication.

York County

York County Corvette Club will host a Seven Sanction Corvette Fun Show on Oct. 7 at Hooters restaurant on Route 30 . Registration is 8 am to 10 am Event chairman is Jeff Walker, call 717-577-3837.

Dover Assembly of God will host a car show 2 to 4 pm Sept. 15. Food and Drinks will be available. The show is open to all cars. No registration fee. All proceeds benefit Emerge Youth Ministries.

Providence Place of Dover will host a car show noon to 3 pm today. There is no registration fee. All proceeds from food will benefit Alzheimer Association. For details, call Bonnie at 717-767-4500.

American Legion Riders Post 543 and 605 present the second annual Bike Show Sept. 22 at Red Lion Recreational Park. Bike Registration fee is $10, registration starts at noon, and trophies will be awarded at 5 pm This event benefits PA Veterans. Rain date will be Sept. 23.

Bobcat Foundation Car Show is set for 10 am to 2 pm Sept. 22 at the Northeastern Middle School/High School complex, 300 High St., Manchester. Car enthusiasts are invited to show their muscle cars, street rods, antiques, classics or tuners. Registration is $15 at the event or $10 before Sept. 15. The awards ceremony will be 2 pm Awards will be given for first, second and third place in each category. A Best in Show trophy also will be given.

There will be dash plaques for the first 50 entrants, food, vendors, raffles and music from the NHS Bobcat Marching Band. The annual Baby Buffalo Patty Drop will be 1 pm, $300 top cash prize.

Vendor spots are still available for a $100 donation.

Auxiliary to Lutheran Social Services, Shrewsbury Chapter will host its annual Village Fair at the Shrewsbury Lutheran Retirement Village.

An Antique/Classic/ Custom Car Show will be 9 am

to 2 pm Sept. 22, with no registration or admission fees. Call 717-244-5820.

Motor Menders Rod Custom 2012 Cruise Nights at Markets at Shrewsbury ? an all-vehicle car show that includes dash plaques, trophies, a 50/50 drawing and oldies music- will be 5 to 9 pm Sept. 28 and Oct. 26 at 12025 Susquehanna Trail, Shrewsbury Township, weather permitting.

Registration is a $1 donation. Rain dates are the following Fridays.

York Biker BBQ will be 11 am to 3 pm

Sept. 9 at Cityview Community Church, 1655 Roosevelt Ave., Manchester Township. The buffet-style meal includes barbecued chicken, pulled pork sandwich, baked potato, baked beans, macaroni salad, cole slaw and a beverage. Cost is $12 per person.

c The Road Raiders Rod and Custom Car Club will host the Family Cruzin 9 am to 2 pm

Oct. 13 and Nov. 10 at Peach Bottom Inn. The event includes music, pit beef and ham, door prizes, trophies, street rods, rat rods, custom and classic bikes and more. This event will be held, Cost is $5 per entry.

c Jim Nenas Pizzeria Car and Bike Show 2012 is open to all classes, no club membership required and includes plaques, trophies, door prizes and 50/50 drawings. Registration is not required. The shows will be 2 to 5 pm Sept. 23 and Oct. 21 at Jim Nenas Pizzeria, 4720 Carlisle Road, Dover.

c Cruisin at Route 74 Restaurant car show will be noon to 3 pm Sept. 29. The shows will feature dash plaques, three trophies, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and food at the restaurant, 4980 Carlisle Road, Dover. The show is open to all classes of vehicles. For details, call Dana 717-432-8147.

Cumberland County

c Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association will host a Tractor Pull at 7 pm the second Friday of the month through September, at Williams Grove Steam Engine Show Grounds.

Antique Automobile Club of America Museum
